Hung up and would not install

I am running OS X 10.11.6 and Safari 9.1.2 on a late 2014 iMac. I started to install Dashlane and set the password, fed it the autofill information, and allowed it to pull the passwords from Safari. I got to the point where Dashlane was showing me that I had given it all of the autofill informtion it needed. But it hung up there and I was unable to move forward or back. There was no help line or anything that I could get to. So I Googled “uninstall Dashlane” and followed their instructions to uninstall, which involves removing the extension from whatever browser(s) you’ve added it to, removing Dashlane from thre App folder, and restarting.
I am back to square zero on password managers.
