I am having the same problems that El CidVicious is having, I am having to reboot to get Dashlane to work. As soon as I reduce it to the app tray I lose all control over it. I have to use it in crome to get anything done.

Help, has always been great until today. Crashes every single time, won’t open at all after more attempts than I can count
Using this on El Capitan and previously on Yosemite, only had one issue with this and Chrome but it was an easy fix. Nicely laid out, great to use anywhere.
This is a terrific app! Wish I would have read this before I downloaded the update, for El Capitan 10.11.3 - now I can’t open Dashlane at all and I just extended my subscription. I’ll wait impatiently for their usual fine follow through and quality, but…. one wonders why they didn’t catch such a glaring bug earlier.
I love this app, but the latest update freezes and must be forced to quit. I first updated the app through the App Store. It froze. I tried again. It froze. I removed the file from the appolications folder and downloaded the app again. It froze. Skip this update!
Downloaded this update and now Dashlane will not open. Have 10.11.3 on a MacBook and have same problem as ElCidvicious and Sascha21111. Do not download!
It took a bit to convice my wife to switch from us using a common spreadsheet on our home network drive. She has concerns about security but once she looked at Dashlane’s secutity she agreed and it has been a great app for us to stay in synch with sharing passwords for sites we both visit. Couldm’t see myself without it now!
Ever since the newest update dashlane doesn’t work at all. It has been a great app until now, but when I click to open it the little dot below the application appears to tell me it’s open, but nothing actually opens… btw all my systems are up to date
great app but since the March 09 2106 update the app won’t open. It says the app is damaged and I need to download the app again. So far I have been unable to successfully download the app again.
The chrome extension stopped working just this week despite multiple attempts to update/reinstall manually. Searched desperately for answers and can’t find anything that’s worked. Without the brower extension it’s just a run of the mill password manager
I have been using this app for over six months now, and have found it to be quite satisfactory. It is very good at recalling user names and passwords and speeds up the process of getting into websites considerably. I have had no major issues with it. It also can retain and enter credit card information, If youre willing to do that. I use it on a couple of computers and on an iPhone, and it syncs information well between all of them. Nice job so far.
I’ve been using Dashlane for a while. At first it worked great but then it started having lots of problems - even though I pay extra for the “pro” version it doesn’t seem to like to sync the passwords across all my computers and devices as advertised, it often causes a severe lag and slowdown of my Mac, stuff like that. Unfortunately, the support department of Dashlane is a one-trick pony. They know of only one solution (spoiler: uninstall the App store version, download the version on their website, and when that breaks, uninstall and reinstall, over and over and over). They take a while to respond but it’s kind of pointless since they have only one stock answer and that’s all they send. I recently wrote to them about my iPhone version and they, of course, sent the same OS X letter that they’ve already sent a hundred times. I guess that’s all they know how to do, but of course that does me absolutely no good at all. When my paid subscription ends in a couple of months I will migrate back to 1Password. Unfortunately, I used Dashlane to generate all new, complicated passwords and that will be one pain to move over. But dealing with this app and their lack of support is not something I can do any longer.
I have tried Dashlane premium for about 6 months and although the application has great potential a “memory leak” issue exists. The issue is not threatening but uses increasing memory and cpu resources on my iMac 27 Os X 10.11.4. I have contacted support and they acknowledge the issue. An attempt to address the issue is underway but no ETA has been established for the fix. When the resource issue is fixed this will be a Superior password manger with capabilities greater tha nhe competition.
First off, I’ve loved using this app to store my endless number of passwords. Since the last update (early March), it freezes, I can’t scroll within the app and it makes my mac book’s fan run at levels I never hear it run. I asked support and they said to uninstall and reinstall from their site. I no longer pay for the premium so I am afraid to lose all my saved passwords when I uninstall. Very frustrating.
I have been using Dashlane for several months and LOVED it – recommended it to all my friends, convinced my husband to install it – but recently it has become a huge RAM hog and crashes constantly. I’ve reinstalled several times, done loads of maintenance on my computers, and nothing improves the situation. It’s clearly a problem with Dashlane and not my computers, I can see in the Activity Monitor that it takes up 2GB+ of RAM while still being unresponsive. So disappointed as I relied on this program and love it so much.
Just have to say, I’ve been using dashlane since its unlimited features were free. It is really amazing…cross platform, synching, and saves everything. Maybe add the option to securely save photos…other than that, it is the absolute best and most secure password app on the market. Easy to use and easy to add new data. The interface is simple and easy to get through. I can’t say more about Dashlane, it’s great!
I do wish Apples "Free" policy required products to be more straightforward about freeness, but more on that shortly. This is a very well done app. I did experience some bugs during setup & configuration, but after that its been smooth sailing: a solid piece of self-synchronizing, multiplatform, multibrowser work. Does a good job on a broad range of password prompts, but does not intercept (i.e. respond to) the very rare site that throws up a pop-up dialog window for username/password instead of the more common in-page fields. I have used Dashlane only on OS X & iOS, but not yet on Windows. I have used it in Firefox, Chrome, and Safari. What you get for your ~Free~ download: 1 month of premium service. After the 1 month, "free" gets you the app, tho with no more (multi-platform) self-synchronizing and no auto backups. Theres also a suggestion of limited sharing of secure passwords & notes (Premium specifically provides "unlimited sharing,") but theres no ready mention of what the sharing limitation is on the free plan. Now, there is a facility where one can manually export, transfer and import data saved in Dashlane between various platforms, but "various platforms" includes only laptops & desktops. Without a subscription, Ive found the phone app all but useless. Heck, after the free trial ended, after 1 or 2 SW updates, any passwords on the phone app were gone, so enjoy that version of a Free App! To be honest, I actually havent tried the import/export facilities across platforms. Caveat emptor, baby! Im sure the Dashlane people are not shady, but I do wish they would be more open & direct about the limitations of "free" and about the varieties of the Premium plan costs.
Had a hard drive crash and was unable to retrieve my passwords from the time machine backup when installing the app on my new iMac. I emailed customer support, had a response in less than 24 hours telling me in detail the steps to try to recover the data. The process didn’t work and I figured I would have to enter everything again manually, Then several days later I received an email asking if my recovery was successful. I replied stating that it didn’t. I then received another email from Dashlane in which they gave me as a courtesy, the premium plan for a short term so I could recover all my passwords and notes. I am so impressed and am very grateful for the outstanding customer support.
This app saves your passwords, syncs them between devices, and does it in a way that research tells me is the safest available. Other features don’t matter much to me. The iphone version is especially nice since the thumb recognition saves time.
Great App, and I hope to return to bump this up to 4 stars at some point. However, those looking at reviews should head the caution with regard to operating system impact. I am a paying premium customer, and let me just say once youve committed to a password product it is hard to step away. Out of disgust and elevating frustration, I finally uninstalled with gleeful vengeance to the TRASH, along with other scrubbing techniques usually reserved for more ominous activities. But here is the rub, I didnt last 24 hours before I started to reinstall on my devices again. I use approx. 100 passwords, and interface with 10-15 personal devices equally mixed Redmond and Cupertino. The App is great in its functions and layout, but something is definitely not playing well with others or working too hard in the background. Spinning Beach Balls … GO AWAY!!!!!!!
